Nate Verny

I’m a senior in highschool and have been involved in debate since 2017 and specifically the World Schools Format since 2021. I’ve won multiple tournaments with my school Harvard-Westlake on the North American Circuit including St. Marks (2022), Bluebonnet (2023), Damus (2023), Blake (2023), and New Tech Coppell (2024) - as well as being finalists at Tournament of Champions for their inaugural year hosting World Schools. Along with co-leading my school team, I’m also a member of Team USA’s World Schools Educational Program.

Luiz Arns

I'm currently in the 11th grade at the International School of Curitiba in the South of Brazil. I'm one of five members of the Brazilian National Team and am a part of the first Brazilian team to ever win an international tournament. Apart from that, I'm the president of the ISC Debate Society, won Cornell ISDC, and was a finalist in the 2023 National

Debate Tournament.

Nilufer Mistry Sheasby

I’ve been in love with debate since I was in 5th grade, and in freshman year I founded my school’s World Schools team which I have been the captain of since. I compete on the North American Circuit. With my team I’ve won the St. Marks, Bluebonnet, Damus, Blake, and New Tech Coppell tournaments - as well as being finalists at Tournament of Champions for their inaugural year hosting World Schools. I’ve also scored top speaker at the St. Marks, Berkeley, Damus, and Harvard-Westlake tournaments. I’m thrilled to be a part of Arguments Across the Americas!

Halytza Dutra

I'm a Team Portugal WSDC Coach and was part of the first Brazilian team to win an international tournament (Karachi WSDC ‘23 Novice). I've also had the honor of being considered Best Judge of the first National Debate Tournament in Brazil. Additionally, I'm an ambassador of the Brazilian Debate Institute and was selected this year to attend Harvard WS Invitational. I'm looking forward to all the great we'll be doing at Arguments Across the Americas.

I'm a debater for Team Taiwan where I've won several awards at tournaments including the Taiwan Schools Debate Challenge, Western World Schools, and the East Asia Round Robin. I am extremely happy and passionate to be a part of Arguments Across the Americas to spread the love around the international debate community!

William Zhang

Although I’m only a sophomore in high school, my debate career has lasted for half a decade. During which, I've founded and lead multiple debate clubs in and out of school. Despite competing in various formats, my passion is and will always be World Schools. I’ve competed in Worlds at multiple levels and am even a part of Team USA’s World Schools Educational Program. I’m very excited to continue to be a part of the debate community!
